Evaluation and Diagnosis
This is Pinnacle’s bread and butter. We use a comprehensive approach to assess the body as a whole in order to get down to the root of what is causing your pain.
Once a diagnosis has been established, we formulate a treatment to get you back to being healthy and provide a plan for your long-term health and wellness.
Rehabilitative/Preventative Exercise Interventions
The physical therapists at Pinnacle are all exercise-forward therapists. This means that we prescribe and implement exercises directed at addressing and treating the root cause of your symptoms. Once your pain is decreased, we move forward to return to full-function, dynamic, and multi-joint exercises. Whether your goal is to get back to the field of competition or just be able to go on your morning walks, here at Pinnacle we will give you the tools to succeed.
Manual Therapy
At Pinnacle, we offer expert and precise manual therapy techniques that include:
Soft tissue mobilization
Joint specific mobilizations
Joint manipulations (aka adjustments)
Neuromuscular re-activation techniques
These techniques are all used together to reduce pain, improve joint and tissue mobility, relax muscles, increase range of motion and restore strength.
Blood Flow Restriction Training
Blood flow restriction (BFR) training is a training and rehabilitation strategy involving the use of an inflatable tourniquet, such as an elastic band or cuff, around the top of the arm and/or leg to restrict blood flow during exercise. The goal of BFR training is to increase strength gains while lifting lighter loads which reduces the overall stress on the limb and avoids muscle breakdown.
Blood flow restriction training works by:
Blocking venous return without blocking arterial flow
Facilitating growth hormones
Creating cellular swelling
Fatigue recruiting more Type 2 fibers
Metabolites, especially Lactate, accumulating and stimulating muscle growth
Functional Dry Needling
At PPR, we have therapists that are Dry Needling certified, and we utilize this form of treatment frequently in conjunction with other interventions to address muscle spasms and myofascial trigger points.
Dry needling uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying trigger points in muscle and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain, tightness, and movement impairments.
Graston Technique (R)
Soft tissue injuries can be debilitating and frustrating. GrastonTechnique (GT) therapy is successful in effectively treating all soft tissue conditions including chronic, acute or post-surgicaldysfunctions. GT therapy can help you enjoy life again.
This unique technique and instruments enable the treatment of scar tissue and fascial restrictions during rehabilitation that allows for faster rehabilitation with greater success of restoring range of motion, eliminating pain, and restoring normal function.
Kinesiotaping
We use KT-tape to to to relieve pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, and provide support to joints and muscles. It can also be used to provide feedback to improve neuromuscular recruitment and for postural re-education.
Cupping
Myofascial decompression, otherwise known as “cupping”, is a form of soft tissue technique used to increase localized blood flow, release fascia and muscle tissue, improve scar tissue mobility, and enhance overall functional movement.
